Fiddly mittens

My first attempt at stranded knitting, probably first mitten will be just a try-out.
Also first use of i-cord caston, which, I can tell you, was no picnic in thin black yarn on no 3 needles.

I will like the effect of the black yarn but can't say I really enjoy knitting in black. Bit of a bother since I wear a lot of black otherwise.
